Coaches Role
NCCP Coaching Courses
The NCCP Coaching courses, the Hockey Canada Safety and Speak Out Programs and Hockey Alberta's Checking Skills course is provided so Coaches and Assistant Coaches are familiar with the fundamental understanding of the theoretical and thechnical aspects of the game of hockey. Hockey Alberta's goal is to ensure that all coaches, as well, encourage all assistant coaches, to have the required qualifications that are needed to coach minor hockey.
Below is a list of the courses offered through Hockey Alberta:
1. Hockey Canada Safety Program - this course is needed by one person who will be present at each game
2. Speak Out Against Abuse and Harassment - this courses is required by one member os each team
3. Hockey Alberta Checking Skills - required course for PeeWee coaches and assistants but is highly recommended for coaches and assistants who are coaching Atom.
4. Intro to Coach Level - for coaches and their assistants who coach tykes/initiation
5. NCCP Coach Level - for all coaches, their assistants who coach novice up to Midgets
